Purpose of role
As an Analytics Engineer at nShift, you will have a critical role in maintaining our data infrastructure, driving process improvements, and ensuring our solutions support scalable and accurate data management. You’ll be the technical backbone of transforming our millions of datapoints into usage data that supports both billing and product development.
Competence and Experience
Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Proven experience with Snowflake, AWS (Secrets Manager, SNS, EC2, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3), Matillion ETL, and SQL Server.
- Data Warehousing Expertise: Proficiency in managing data warehouse environments. Maintaining scalable data pipelines to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Process Improvement: Ability to enhance and streamline data process design, coding standards, and operational frameworks.
- Data Anonymization: Knowledge of data anonymization techniques for compliance and privacy requirements.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools: Understands the principles behind tools like Power BI and Tableau.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including billing, finance, and development teams
Overall responsibility
- Data Warehouse Management: Maintain and optimize existing data warehouse environments.
- Billing Support: Provide billing data insights, including platform usage analysis. Prepare datasets for NetSuite imports and automation
- Backend Technical Management: Oversee AWS components (Secrets Manager, SNS, EC2, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3), Matillion (backup, restore, upgrades), and Snowflake (user roles, databases, credit consumption, etc.).
- Data Process Oversight: Ensure standards for Matillion coding, naming, testing, and code reviews. Develop frameworks for data archiving, automated testing, and customer-specific financial exclusions.
- Data Integration and Flow Management: Manage data integration across platforms and ensure accurate flow of information between systems.
- Data Preparation for Reporting: Develop structured datasets for integration into visualization tools.
