About the Role

We are looking for a Platform Architect to drive our transformation from a product-centric development model to a cohesive, API-first platform architecture. This is a key strategic role where you will play a leading part in reimagining how we deliver carrier capabilities as a platform service across our organization.

You will work closely with business and engineering stakeholders to define, build, and implement a platform architecture strategy, ensuring that carrier services are scalable, observable, and reusable across all experience teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation from scattered product-team-specific carrier integrations to a unified platform.
• Design and evolve the technical architecture, ensuring APIs are consistent, secure, scalable, and well-governed.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refactor legacy services into composable platform modules.
• Champion platform principles such as self-service, observability, and consistency across teams.
• Define architectural guidelines, reference implementations, and technical standards to enable agile and autonomous product teams.
• Drive monitoring, logging, and performance optimization to ensure platform stability and resilience.
• Ensure alignment with AWS cloud best practices, including identity, networking, deployment, and security.
• Act as a bridge between business goals and technical execution, working closely with the VP Carrier Management and senior leadership.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and services to support the platform vision, including API gateways, service meshes, and developer experience tooling.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in platform architecture or infrastructure product ownership
• Proven experience leading platform transformations, ideally in a product organization moving toward API-first delivery.
• Deep AWS expertise, including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation/Terraform, IAM, and observability tools like CloudWatch.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design, versioning, documentation, and lifecycle governance.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
• Exceptional collaboration and leadership skills – must be able to influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with carrier/logistics platforms or other high-scale transactional systems.
• Prior involvement in domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, or service mesh implementations.
