Purpose of Role
The Commercial Manager contributes to the company's sales success by enabling contracts to be executed quickly with balanced visible risks. You will lead the Contract Management function to ensure the smooth delivery of services, ensuring that both nShift and its clients fulfill their contractual obligations. Reporting to the Finance SVP and collaborating with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and broader sales teams, you must have a proven track record of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer contracts. Ideally, you have experience with SaaS terms and you can bring additional perspectives to the commercial position of the company.
The area of responsibility includes:
- Advising customers and internal stakeholders on queries regarding commercial terms and pricing
- Establishing standard negotiating positions and training the sales team with appropriate objection-handling responses.
- Support the negotiation of contractual terms for larger opportunities with Enterprise level clients
- Maintain and update the inventory of existing contracts, ensuring contract terms keep pace with evolving industry trends
- Strategically manage targeted renegotiations for legacy contracts with unbalanced commercial terms
- Ad hoc legal and commercial projects as required by the CEO, CFO, CRO and / or nShift’s Private Equity Sponsors
Competence and experience
- Strong business acumen
- Exposure to the management of commercial contracts from SMB to enterprise-level transactions
- A proven background in negotiating and drafting commercial contract variations, including direct customer-facing activities
- Experience in purchasing/procurement is also considered an asset.
- Project Management skills and proven track record of project work.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, intense, performance-driven culture. Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
- Experience in identifying, qualifying, and prioritizing business opportunities.
- Strong relationship management and networking abilities on different organizational levels
- Experience within SaaS, e-commerce, Logistics, or Carrier Networks is an advantage.
- Native English language is preferred
